Vlasoff Cay, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland

It started with a phone call asking how much I weighed… I had a feeling this was going to be a fun elopement!

Spending the afternoon with Brenton & Dahlia on Vlasoff Cay was an absolute pleasure! What a great way to get married! What do you need to elope to a Coral Cay on the Great barrier reef? A helicopter comes in handy… and someone to fly it helps. Throw in a celebrant and photographer and you’ve got a recipe for one hell of an afternoon.

It poured all afternoon and long into the night the day before this wedding. A good sign of the skies clearing up for the following day in the tropics. We had ourselves a perfect afternoon in the end. A little wind, but nothing too crazy. Add some sushi from the local Japanese restaurant to the equation and presto!

It was amazing to see the ear to ear smile on Dahlia’s face when she realised that the cay was nothing but sand. The reef boots came off and she literally began jumping for joy! Thanks for a great afternoon guys and congratulations!
