We met Alexandra & Sam the day before the wedding down at Rex Smeal Park in Port Douglas. It was bucketing with rain! We jumped in the cars and headed out to take a look at a couple of nice, private spots along the river.
With a healthy amount of rain falling over the past few days, the greenery had gone insane! The look on Alex’s face said it all, we didn’t need to look at the other spot (we still did, as it’s also stunning) and the perfect place to have the ceremony had been found.
The wedding day started for me with a knock on the door at the Sheraton. Alex’s hair and makeup was well underway and I had a chance to spend some time with her something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. The flower arrangement from Nine Blooms was stunning and may have had me deep in the zone with a product shoot over in the corner of the room.
A quick trip over to Oaks and I found myself with Sam and the rest of the lads. We had a few cheeky laughs in the hotel before heading off in convoy to the river. The light was perfect along the way and a quick stop off between the mountains and a cane field was on the cards. The guys had me in hysterics as they threw Sam over the shoulder and walked him round like a rag doll for a while before a Reservoir Dogs style strut played out on the way back to the cars.
Whilst the guys got set up down by the river, Anna and I headed up to wait for Alex and the girls. Alex looked amazing in her dress and before heading down, we had ourselves a quick photoshoot against the cane fields. A magical stroll through the jungle and Alex was down by the river with Sam and ready to tie the knot.
A few tears were shed on both sides and the next thing we knew there were hugs, kisses, bubbles and champagne! A stunning couple in their element with some close friends in a jungle by a river, what better way to get married!
Congratulations Alexandra & Sam. It was a pleasure working with you both and I’m sure you’ll have many happy years to come with your new family.
