DIY Country wedding
Now this was a country wedding to remember! What a pleasure it was to capture this gorgeous country wedding! Sarah & Mat took it upon themselves to do absolutely everything themselves… Yep, thats right, no wedding planner or co-ordinator, just a whole heap of family members, friends and a little direction. Well… the marquee was setup by professionals, but otherwise the rest was all them. Sarah picked the flowers from their backyard, and the size of these proteas were something to be marvelled! Mat build the arbour, which was then converted into a bookcase for them to use in their home (clever right!)
The rain started falling as the buses started to arrive (yes, they were also organised by the bride and groom). With beers and wines in hand, a little downpour on the South Coast was to be expected on this overcast weekend getaway. A sign of good things to come, the rain stopped just before the ceremony started and held out for a good half an hour afterwards giving us just enough time to capture some hilarity as the newly weds goofed around refusing to pose (as is our way) for anything! Henry the Great Dane gets a worthy mention for his horse sized dog vest, getting plenty of laughs and smiles as he walked out from the house just before Sarah came down the isle.
The massive country house was perfect for the families to get to know one another and with the drinks flowing all day and late into night, this was one to remember! These two were an absolute hoot and it was such a pleasure to spend the day with an incredibly chilled out couple! They even snuck away without anyone seeing to have their first dance in secret, cheeky buggers!
